Both of my children have attended Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) since Kindergarten. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy a new home. After some discussion, my husband and I both felt it was very important to stay within the City of Manassas, so that our children would complete their education here. We’ve never regretted that decision.
From my time volunteering in the school system, I’ve come to know several of our teachers and staff very well. While at R.C. Haydon Elementary School, one teacher really stood out. Not only is she a wonderful teacher, she became a mentor and friend. I will forever be grateful for her guidance and support.
Now we are at Mayfield Intermediate School. Like a lot of parents, I had some concerns about my children transitioning to a larger school. The Principal’s reassurance was truly appreciated. She very patient with all of our questions and made the transition for all of us extremely smooth, and we’ve come to embrace the new chapter in our children’s school life. The teachers have been amazing. They walk the fine line of meeting the children’s needs while pushing them to become more responsible: I see the growth in my own children daily. I am sure that the years to come will not be without occasional struggles, but I have full faith that the teachers and administrators of MCPS will be there supporting us along the way.
